Marian Sobula
skills were appreciated by juries in several piano competitions, such
as “Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe” in Bydgoszcz
(Poland, 2005), International Piano Competition in Valladolid (Spain,
2005), Ancona, Foggia, Gorizia, Pordenone, Sulmona and the 47th "Award
Citta di Treviso" (Italy, 2003, 2004). In 2007 he has received the
“Special Prize” in the International Music Competition
“Dr. Luis Sigall” in Vina Del Mar, Chile.
Performances all around the world gave Marian Sobula opportunity to
promote Poland and its culture among worldwide audience. Concerts in
Europe, Japan, Australia, the USA, countries of South America and the
Middle East, where his performances were enthusiastically applauded
both by the public and musical critics, who described his renditions as
“mature” and “sophisticated”.
The pianist had on opportunity to present his talent in the most
prestigious halls of Europe and the World, e.g. Am Gasteig in Munich,
Beethovenhalle in Bonn, Auditorium Parco Della Musica in Rome, Salle
Invalides in Paris, Bosendorfer Saal in Vienna, Concert Hall Center in
Minneapolis, Seymour Theater Center in Sydney, Teatro Teresa Carreno in
Caracas, Denki Bunka-Kaikan in Nagoya or National Philharmonic in
Warsaw.
Marian Sobula’s recordings have already been broadcasted by
several media: Polish Radios, RMF Classic, Deutsche Welle, ABC Classic
FM (Australia), Radio Federico Santa Maria de Chile or RAI. He has also
recorded for Polish Television and for the Lebanon TV Station
TeleLumiere.
In recognition of his merits, Marian Sobula received a number of awards
and scholarships from both national and international foundations and
institutions. In July 2008, Marian Sobula received a prestigious award
of the City of Cracow “ARS QUAERENDI” for his remarkable
activity in the development and promotion of culture.
